With the pandemic canceling Cincinnati’s benefit event, most June 11th activity this year was via online, reminding peers to visit the website and consider options for solidarity. Coincidentally, a fairly elaborate Security Culture training session happened this day, by/for many local activists involved in demonstrations against the police in recent weeks. Prisoner support literature given out, and summary of the June 11th campaign, helped bridge relevance of this annual effort to actions currently raging in the streets.

June 11, 2020 statement from Jeremy Hammond
Revolutionary greetings, it’s Big Jerm. I’m doing this video message to commemorate June 11th, the International Day of Solidarity with Long Term Anarchist Prisoners.
The Final Straw – June 11th 2020: Marius Mason support and words from Jeremy Hammond
From the Final Straw
In this June 11th podcast special, we’re happy to feature two interviews. The first is with Letha, a supporter of anarchist prisoner Marius Mason who is 7 years from release for animal and earth liberation front actions in the late 1990’s. Marius, who tested positive for covid-19 recently at FCI Danbury, continues his activism including on behalf of other trans folks behind bars as well as to write and create. More on his case and how to support him is up at SupportMariusMason.org. Then I spoke with Jeremy Hammond who is an anarchist prisoner supported by June11th for hactivist activities in the early 2010’s as a member of Anonymous and other crews that released information to WikiLeaks to expose corporate and police spying and abuse and war crimes, as well as supporting whistleblowers in the Global War on Terror like Chelsea Manning. Jeremy also recently resisted a Federal Grand Jury around WikiLeaks with Chelsea Manning, he contracted covid-19 recently, and currently produces a podcast with his brother, Jason, called Twin Trouble which is in the Channel Zero Network. More on Jeremy’s case at FreeJeremy.Net.

Bloomington, Indiana (USA): Free Michael Kimble, Raze the Walls
“Never should we lay down and accept the state’s logic of submission by depending on the state to free us. Freedom is in our hands.” – Michael Kimble
On June 5, 2020, in anticipation of the June 11th International Day of Solidarity with Long-Term Anarchist Prisoners, we participated in a march in Bloomington, Indiana against the police murder of Black people by spreading word about our beloved friend Michael Kimble, Black anarchist and intransigent prison rebel.

June 11, 2020 update from Jennifer Rose
On 10/28/19 I was granted a sentence reduction from 25-years-to-life down to 8 years on the assault and battery against a state prosecutor – a “non-serious” felony. Several people attended my hearing and applauded the judge’s ruling with raised fists.
Now, I’m eligible for parole and have a BPH hearing scheduled for July 28, 2020. I need support letters addressed to the Board of Parole Hearings and Gov. Gavin Newsom citing positive reasons I should be found suitable for parole (e.g. being a college student, LGBTQ activism, advocacy work for incarcerated people, earning certificates from rehab programs and self-help programs). Support letters can be sent to me directly, or any questions can be directed to my attorney:
Richard Rutledge
Attorney at Law
7960 B Soquel Dr. #354
Aptos, CA 95003
People should also mention the COVID-19 emergency as a reason to demand my immediate release, because of my age (50), chronic illness (hepatitis C & Valley Fever), and vulnerability to severe COVID-19 symptoms in prison.
I’m very encouraged and hopeful about my chances for release right now! Thousands of prisoners have been released early from jails and prisons across the country over the past two months. We have built momentum for the abolitionist struggle to demand more decarceration efforts and sentence commutations.
I’ve been accepted by three different transitional housing programs. These community-based alternatives to incarceration make my continued imprisonment unnecessary. I’ve been held captive for over 30 years, survive brutality and torture, and I’m determined as ever to win Freedom!
I’m proud of our work with the Fire Ant collective. The zine is now in its sixth issue, and our imprisoned comrades able to connect their individual and collective struggles internationally.
Kesäkuun yhdennentoista viettäminen on tapa muistaa pitkiä vankeustuomioita saaneita anarkisteja. Tänä päivänä tuemme heitä solidaarisuustoimin.
Yhteiskunnallisten kamppailujen ollessa jatkuvassa muutoksessa on tämän päivän viettäminen tapa varmistaa ettei vangitut toverimme painu unholaan. Kesäkuun yhdestoista on tapa taistella unohdusta vastaan. Tavoitteena on ylläpitää pitkäaikaista, kollektiivista muistia anarkistiliikkeessä. Kesäkuun yhdestoista unohtamisen vastainen päivä.
